3D Modeling

Vinyl Sticker in Rhino

This was my very first project in the 3D modeling software Rhino. This is a vinyl sticker inspired by the Wes Anderson movie “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. This project was a great introduction into the software and how to create fun shapes using the tools.

I recently learned how to 3D model utilizing the Rhino software and then rendering in KeyShot. Our first project we chose a small object, measured every aspect of it and then modeled it in Rhino. I chose to use a Bic lighter due to the unique textures and materials used. Using KeyShot the renderings turned out very realistic. Our next project we had to design a ring based off of architecture. I chose to model a ring based off the Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. I was captivated by the tall windows that overlook the lake. It was a different experience to render the ring due to the different material options and the overlapping shapes. Finally, the canoe was fun to render and practice some more dramatic lighting.

Screen Printing

I’ve always wanted to learn how to screen print and I finally got the opportunity this past year. Below are three examples of the projects I did from my class. The first one is a monoprint in which you paint the screen with watercolors and then with clear transparent based push the color through onto the paper creating a stenciled watercolor piece. The second is a piece about when I fell down a flight of stairs on my campus resulting in a broken wrist and a gash on my forehead. Dealing with the trauma of such a horrible thing I decided to turn it into art. The final piece is my first ever screen print. Our professor wanted us to do a piece that we felt represented who we are as an artist. My identity plays a major role in my art so I drew myself attached to laurel leaves the weave around my logo.
